Pat Hurley
Environmental Science Instructor

Pat Hurley came to SKC in 1979 from El Paso Texas, where she had earned her BA and MS in Biology at University of Texas El Paso. She established the general science program, then assisted in the development of the Environmental Science Programs where she remains as an instructor. Pat likes to share her love of native plants in botany and restoration-related courses, including Introduction to Botany, Environmental Adaptation of Plants, Forest Botany, Native Plants Methods, Restoration Ecology and Conservation of Biodiversity. She also takes special joy in teaching General Biology because it gives her the opportunity to share her fascination with life processes.

Since 1998, Pat has been the SKC partner ProjectTRAIN, a collaboration with University of Montana to involve Native American students in environmental research.

Pat's family includes her daughter Jennifer, son-in-law Geoff, and granddaughter Miriya.
